Scribblenauts 2 Announced

As reported by Kotaku, the latest issue of Nintendo Power indicates that developer 5th Cell has announced that Scribblenauts 2 will be released this fall.  The first title in the series was released last year and allowed you to write any word you could think of (well, at least any word in the game dictionary) to solve puzzles.  The object/animal/person would appear on the screen and, hopefully, aid you in reaching the star in that level.  Sending god, sharks, and zombies in to fight your battles and zooming around in a jet pack turned out to be quite a blast.  However, the controls were a little wonky, and there were occasionally glitchy performance issues.  5th Cell has promised that the control scheme has been refined and that the dictionary will be increased by another 10,000 words, allowing for even more insane hi-jinxs to occur.   I loved the imagination of the first game and the sense of possibility in solving the puzzles in unique ways, but the controls and glitches really dampened the experience for me.  So, hopefully they can address those issues and deliver a more refined product.  I’d love to have a turnaround story a la Assassin’s Creed, where the second game in the series delivers everything promised in the first one but that was not quite delivered the first time around.
