New Mass Effect 2 DLC “Overlord” in June

Mass Effect 2's "VI overlord"

BioWare has announced new downloadable content (“DLC”) for Mass Effect 2 in June.  The DLC will be entitled Overlord and consists of a one overarching story unfolding “over five new level areas.”  Shepard is sent to investigate a Cerberus research base that has not been responding to communications to discover an expriment gone wrong.  The scientists at the base attempted to fuse a human with virtual intelligence and ended up creating a rogue hybrid, the “VI overlord” that can can control technology and has attacked other Cerberus bases.  Shepard must contain the threat before it escapes the planet and becomes a danger to the universe.  The new DLC will cost 560 Microsoft or BioWare points and comes with two new achievements for the achievement whores out there.  The last paid DLC for Mass Effect 2 was slightly disappointing, mainly because Kasumi’s loyalty quest was not quite lengthy enough for the price being charged.   However, players at least did get a new character to play in the game outside of that content.  Hopefully, the Overlord DLC will be a bit more lengthy and engaging, especially because it does not sound like we will be getting a new character this time.
